Community Circle SingMay 26th 6pm Community Singing Circle continues in Whitefield
The second session of a community singing circle will meet at Sheepscot General Store, 98 Townhouse Road, Whitefield, on Saturday, May 26th starting at 6:00 p.m. A small but lively group met for the inaugural session in April. As in the first session, acoustic instruments are welcome, but please arrive a little early for tuning up. While songs may come from any source, the two volumes of Rise Up Singing and Rise Again (https://www.riseupandsing.org/songbooks) offer a rich source of songs from folk and the blues to the Beatles. Anyone who has either of these books is urged to bring them. For more information, please contact Dan Townsend (207-549-7599, oneyounggeezer@gmail.com).
Because Sheepscot General Store closes at 6 pm on Saturdays, plan to arrive earlier to purchase any food or beverages. Anyone arriving after 6 pm should use the side door that directly accesses the Community Room where the singing circle takes place.

Kevin Mizner Art Opening: June 1st  5pm We are excited to announce we will be showcasing the art of local painter Kevin Mizner!! Kevin has been painting scenes of Maine for well over thirty years. His realist style has evolved into a synthesis of classical landscape techniques with the sensibility of impressionism. Kevin takes advantage of the everyday beauty of Maine: The Lobstermen plying their trade along the coast, or the rolling fields, farms, and woods of Maine’s interior. In his Americana paintings, he evokes a sense of the working people of Maine’s history. All are given a bold color-filled look that typifies Kevin’s paintings
Please join us at 5 pm Friday, June 1st for the art opening. We will also have pizza and a wine tasting the same night. Kevin’s work will be displayed through the summer.
