Shop-keeper/cashier

Must have a positive attitude and genuine interest in quality and local food. Weekends, afternoons, and flexibility during the summer months a must. Experience in customer service and/or food service/hospitality industry. This is a part-time position beginning in March. Starting at $9/hour.

Checks out customers at the register, make sandwiches, makes brewed coffee, repacks bulk items, prices, and stocks store shelves, and helps to track inventory for orders, is passionate about great food/great service.

Our expectations are

  • Makes eye contact and greets customers enthusiastically

  • Treats customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect

  • Keeps the lunch counter, register area, coffee counter and store area clean

  • Makes brewed coffee

  • Keeps café tables clean

  • Checks the bathroom, cleans and stocks as needed

  • Checks in with guests whom recently received café food

  • Positively responds to requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors, and customers

  • Notices when help is needed in all areas of the store

  • Takes initiative to help any area of the store if possible, or let someone know where help is needed.

  • Finds work to do when slow
