I spend most of my time around plants.

Even on my days off from my various farm jobs, I have found myself poking around (usually barefoot) in the garden - observing and finding comfort in the subtle changes I see and in the buzzing of various pollinating allies. Even the frustration of flea beetle bites or plant disease offers the chance to learn, safe in the knowledge that more likely than not, we’ll have what we need.

The routine of tending to seedlings and spring projects has taken on new weight amidst the reality of Covid-19.

We keep trucking along with the long established rhythms of the farm, but it’s impossible to not feel the added importance of having enough to provide a modicum of security - both in veggies and seedlings - for our community. We’ve upped our planting plan in the hopes that we can support everyone who wants to tend a garden this season.

To accommodate necessary social distancing measures, we are also introducing a seedling pre-order form, allowing for safe drive-through pick up of your seedlings at our greenhouse. More information can be found on the online order form.

Whether it’s a backyard plot, shared community space, or some window boxes, we hope our organically raised seedlings (grown in compost-based living soil mix) can provide nourishment and beauty in an uncertain time.
