I have been playing music since my mother started me on piano lessons at age four. At 8 I entered the junior choir at the Washington National Cathedral, graduating to the senior choir in the next school year, allowing me to enroll at St. Albans School with a modest scholarship. That year I also switched from piano to classical guitar, studying with Aaron Shearer, who started the classical guitar department at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. I immediately began playing folk and rock, and performed with a couple of bands through high school. After one year of college at St. Johns in Annapolis, I started Claude Jones, which quickly became one of the DC area’s most popular bands. Since that time I have been fortunate to have shared the stage with many of the greatest names in folk, rock and classical music.
More recently I served for four years as president of the Maine Songwriters Association and served as the former music columnist for the Coastal Journal. My song “Vicksburg,” which is featured on Hollowbody Electric Band’s “Prickly Stickers” CD, won the 2014 Maine Songwriting Contest.

Nolle and Evan have played songs in a number of projects over the years, sometimes together, sometimes not. Nolle has been the host of Seedy Folk, the ongoing concert series every 1st and 3rd Sunday at Oxbow Farmhouse in Newcastle since last April. They'll be trading a guitar and bass back and forth both playing a mix of each other's original songs and covers from singer/songwriters like Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, Bob Dylan and Blaze Foley, as well as some 60s & 70s favorites from the Byrds, the Dead, New Riders of the Purple Sage and others that you've heard of.

The Sheepscot General team voted to join the general strike in solidarity with fellow patriotic Americans across the country. The vast majority of Americans know that the actions of ICE and DHS are unconstitutional, un-American and wrong. Please join the masses to send the message that we won't tolerate this disturbing abuse of power.

Stan Davis decided to play the guitar at age twelve, after attending a concert by Pete Seeger. More than fifty years later, his finger-style, slide, and electric lead guitar playing spans the blues, ragtime, jazz, and folk music. Stan also plays bowed psaltery, blues harmonica, autoharp, mountain dulcimer, and trichordo bouzouki.
A life-long storyteller, Stan writes quirky, heart-felt songs about real peoples’ lives across the human lifespan, in the tradition of Jim Croce, David Bromberg, Harry Chapin, Tracy Chapman, Dave Carter, and Arlo Guthrie. Other influences include Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont blues, and the music of Mississippi John Hurt.
